Day 2. The early ascent at 2:30 a.m. to the summit of Rinjani was unfortunately only possible for 1 person plus tour guide. My son and I were too exhausted from the first climb the day before. My recommendation is to extend the expedition to 4 days. This picture shows breakfast on the morning of the second day. July 2018

Active Rinjani volcanic cone. For information: Our Rinjani expedition was from July 9th to July 11th, 2018 On the morning of July 29th, 2018 an earthquake occurred on the island of Lombok with a magnitude of 6.4 on the moment magnitude scale. The earthquake triggered landslides, which in turn cut off large numbers of hikers on the Rinjani volcano. The authorities announced that 1,226 people were rescued from the mountain, 700 of them foreigners from a total of 26 countries.
